Promoting a culture of self-care at Cambridge
Our students are not academic machines, but young people navigating the complexities of life. Your contribution nurtures an environment that values good mental health, destigmatises seeking help, and provides a safety net for our students to develop their academic and personal strengths.
Last academic year our Senior Tutor, Dr Paul Dominiak, completed a Strategic Review of Welfare, Wellbeing and Mental Health, which identified the strengths of the welfare system at Jesus, as well as areas for growth and greater integration with stepped care to the welfare systems of the University and external agencies such as the NHS. The Review also helped give an evidence base on where to focus College resources in relation to mental health and wellbeing, balancing preventative and therapeutic interventions.
By investing in the College’s mental health and wellbeing programme, you help students emerge from their academic journey not only with a degree but as confident and considerate members of a much healthier society.
